5 Devious Desserts in Disguise Perfect for April Fool’s Day

On April Fool’s Day, nothing is safe. This includes food. More specifically, desserts. Even more specifically, food-related pranks involving desserts that look like one, less appealing thing but in reality are something much more delicious. (Okay, yes, that’s very specific).

These devious desserts are creative ways to play fun pranks on friends and foes alike. So trick everyone this April Fool’s Day with these tasty, devious treats in disguise.

A cupcake base, vanilla frosting “spaghetti,” and Ferrero Rocher chocolate “meatballs” make this cupcake fake-out dinner and dessert in one.

These mini cheesecake bites are masquerading as spoonfuls of mashed potatoes, topped with caramel “brown gravy” and flakes of “pepper” made out of chocolate sprinkles. The idea of “comfort food” hits on all levels here.

These chicken nuggets are vegetarian friendly, with pound cake instead of chicken covered in a “batter” of crushed peanuts.
