The 8 Best Boozy St. Patrick's Day Desserts

March 3, 2018

So to be completely honest, St. Patrick’s Day scares me a bit. Especially living in the city. Double especially, the fact that SPD is on a Saturday this year. While this concept is great in theory, I feel like St. Patrick’s Day as we know it today has become one of those “holidays” where people forget what it really stands for and just get black. out. trashed.

Call me new-fashioned, but I prefer to eat my alcohol. So where will I be two weeks from today? In my kitchen. What will I be doing? Celebrating St. Patrick’s Day the best way I know how- by baking one of these 8 deliciously boozy and decadent desserts fit for any man credited with driving the snakes out of Ireland.

Nutty Irishman Cupcakes with Baileys Buttercream Frosting

The “nutty” in these cupcakes comes from the Frangelico hazelnut liquor. The “awesome” comes from that plus  Baileys Irish Cream plus Kahlua.

Baileys Mint Chocolate Cream Pie

Add some Andes Mints to garnish this green, minty, boozy pie and you have one dessert definitely not getting pinched on the 17th.

Guinness Pistachio Sweet Rolls with Irish Cream Cheese Glaze

Be sure to bake these sweet rolls on Friday the 16th so you can enjoy them for breakfast the next day.

Boozy Baked Donuts

Second breakfast, anyone? These Guinness donuts are perfect when you’re ready for Breakfast: the Sequel.

Baileys Cheesecake

I am a firm believer that man can live on cheesecake alone. Favorite dessert ever, hands down. So this chocolate-y, Baileys Irish Cream-y version is just icing on the (cheese)cake.

Baileys and Coffee Blondies

The espresso in these boozy blondies goes far to enhance the caramel base. And then there’s the Baileys, of course, which doesn’t suck either…

Old Fashioned Whiskey Cake

Irish Cream and Guinness take a breather here and let Irish Whiskey shine in this rich and nutty old fashioned whiskey cake.

Dark Chocolate-Glazed Creme de Menthe Shortbread

Creme de menthe liqueur makes sure this shortbread recipe does anything but fall short of expectations.
